Due to recent statewide funding cuts, Adams County Public Library will be reducing operating hours, effective October 1st, 2025. Since the closure of DP&L, the library has seen a 22% reduction in local levy revenue. Our hopes were that some modest increase in state funding each year would help us to offset that loss.
We’ve done our best in recent years to absorb cuts in funding and increases in operating costs, without making changes to hours or services. By using foot traffic data, we’ve selected the slowest hours to reduce, opening later on Fridays and closing earlier on Saturdays. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Effective October 1, 2025, our updated operating hours at all locations will be:
Monday 10 – 7
Tuesday 10 – 7
Wednesday 10 – 7
Thursday 10 – 7
Friday 1 – 5
Saturday 10 – 2
