Get ready for a summer full of stories, discovery, and adventure with the Adams County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, running May 20 through July 11, 2026! This year’s theme, Unearth a Story, invites readers of all ages to explore new worlds, spark their imaginations, and enjoy exciting programs all summer long.

How It Works

Sign Up: Register at your local library starting May 20, 2026, or sign up online through Beanstack.
Read Books: Set your own reading goal and track your progress. Audiobooks count, too!
Earn Prizes: Complete reading and activities by July 11 to earn rewards.

Summer Preschool Storytime

North Adams Library: Tuesdays at 11 a.m.
Peebles Library: Wednesdays at 11 a.m.
West Union Library: Thursdays at 11 a.m.
Manchester Library: Wednesdays at 11 a.m. & Thursdays at 5 p.m.

-Zoomies Program: Family Traditions
Wednesday, May 27

Peebles Library at 5 p.m.
Meet fascinating animals and learn how some species today still resemble their dinosaur ancestors. This program is supported by the State Library of Ohio with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

-Dino Safari Party
Saturday, May 23, at noon – West Union Library
Enjoy dino-themed crafts, snacks, a scavenger hunt, and a movie for the whole family.

-Curiosity Carnival
Peebles Library, on Thursday, June 4, from 1 - 3 p.m. 
Explore hands-on STEAM activities, meet local organizations, and enjoy an afternoon of discovery and fun.

-Dino Egg Painting and Movie
Manchester Library on Thursday, June 11, at 1:30 p.m. 
Paint your own dinosaur egg and stay for a themed movie.

-Fossil Lab: Cast, Mold, and Discover
North Adams Library on Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Join the University of Cincinnati Department of Geosciences for a fossil presentation and make your own cast-and-mold fossil!

Summer Outreach

Look for the library at the Adams County Fair, where staff will be hosting games, crafts, educational activities, and prizes!
