Dear Library Friends, Spring is a season of fresh beginnings, and we are excited to welcome March through May with opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate together at the library. Whether you are discovering a new program or revisiting for a favorite service, your library is here to support you every step of the way. This season, we are proud to participate in Ohio Goes to the Movies, a statewide celebration of our state’s rich film history, and we will give you a brief look into our dinosaur-themed Summer Reading Program. Both initiatives celebrate storytelling and lifelong learning. Our calendar features engaging events for children, teens, and adults, including book clubs, STEAM programs, and hands-on workshops. We also support early literacy through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten reading challenge, helping young readers build strong foundations from the very start. Beyond programs, we offer free notary services and inexpensive copy, print, and fax services. Staff members are available for one-on-one tech help, and our outreach service bring library resources to the community. Your library card provides access to books, audiobooks, DVDs, and digital materials through Libby, along with a wide range of online research and career resources. Library cards are free to residents, and most materials may be borrowed for weeks with convenient automatic renewals. This booklet also provides information about local food, shelter, and clothing assistance, and IPM FoodLink Boxes are available at the library to support families in need. Find full details about the above topics in this booklet. Thank you for being part of our library community. We look forward to serving you this spring. Sincerely, Nicholas Slone Executive Director Library Administration Nick Slone, Executive Director Steven Harris, Fiscal Officer Library Board of Trustees Phillip Rhonemus, President Holly Johnson, Vice President Sarah Shelton, Secretary Linda Stepp Linda Worley Elaine Lafferty Kayla Bowman 3
Ohio Goes to the Movies: The Avengers Ohio Goes to the Movies is coming to West Union High School on March 20 at 6 p.m., and everyone is invited! In 2026, communities across all 88 Ohio counties will take part in celebrating Ohio’s impact on film. Ohio Goes to the Movies is a collaborative statewide initiative that highlights Ohio’s role in cinema, from movies filmed in the state to Ohio to born actors, directors, and crew members, who have shaped the industry. “What better way to celebrate community than with a screening of The Avengers, filmed in Cleveland, Ohio? This event brings families together, while honoring reallife heroes, including our neighbors, partners, and volunteers, who strengthen our communities every day,” said Julia McCane-Knox, Assistant Director of the Adams County Public Library. This Comic-Con and Carnival-themed evening will also include games, photo opportunities, prizes, and food. Community partners will host interactive game booths throughout the event, including: Adams-Brown Head Start Help Me Grow Adams County Board of Developmental Disabilities West Union Lions Club Peebles Magazine Club Ohio Means Jobs OSU Extension The event focuses on making connections, celebrating community, and having fun together. Everyone is encouraged to attend, and everything is free to enjoy. Grab your friends, wear your favorite superhero gear, and get ready for a superpowered evening at the movies!
